Author Sonya Faraci cherishes her memories of childhood. Growing up in a small village and its fish camp, her childhood was vastly different from those depicted in many children's books. She decided to change this.

Faraci invites readers to experience life in her Alaskan fish camp in her new children's book, "Better than Nice!" (published by Trafford Publishing).

"Better than Nice!" has been selected for inclusion in the Gold Seal program, which recognizes excellence in writing and overall potential.

In "Better than Nice!," readers follow the lives of two children in a remote Alaskan village. The two children go from place to place, playing in the water, chasing snipes, flying kites and enjoying nature.

Faraci's book is largely inspired by her own experiences as a child in her village and fish camp. She hopes her book will not only educate children on other cultures, but also inspire them to make cherished memories of their own.
