September is right around the corner, and the back-to-school sales are about to begin. Cue a slew of social media captions featuring sun emojis, sunglasses emojis, beach emojis, fried shrimp emojis...and thanks to Shmoop, nerd glasses emojis.

Shmoop (http://www.shmoop.com), a digital publisher known for its award winning test prep and certified online courses, doesn't sell practical yet stylish notebooks or give official advice on how to coordinate a hip first-day outfit (yet). Instead, they help with the tough stuff: gearing students up for test preparation, guiding them through mind-boggling problem sets, and making those cryptic reading assignments a little more manageable.

Shmoop comes in two flavors. First, there's schools.shmoop.com, an education haven crafted with care for schools and districts. Compliant with every acronym under the sun (HIPAA, COPPA, SSL, oh my), schools.shmoop.com offers students and teachers on a school or district license a way to quench all of their scholastic needs, be they middle school math, advanced computer science, or anything in between. None of the ads. All of the fun.

Then there's good ol' http://www.shmoop.com, which includes the recently debuted ShmoopYou, a platform for students and educators to help each other out. Among other swanky features are chat rooms dedicated to "Shmooping Shakespeare," "College, Careers, Life," and even "Pokémon GO"; discussion boards on every subject under the sun; and status updates from beloved historical and literary figures (Gregor Samsa: "Hump day, amirite?"). What better way to ease into the school year than to make learning social and interactive?

"Teaching in an urban high school (ever see Lean on Me?-that's my school) presents many challenges for resources for my kids," says Susan Palzer, a teacher in New Jersey. "They love the videos that present brief yet thorough summaries of novels and plays we are about to read. I also use Shmoop for SAT and PSAT prep which these kids so sorely require." Yeah, Shmoop's got it all.

Need to get unstuck from the summer slump? Individual students, teachers, and parents can subscribe to Shmoop, and schools and districts can get bulk discounts by emailing sales(at)shmoop.com.
