Author Shirley "Beauty" Houston sings "Love Notes in Erratic Tones" (published by Xlibris) as she traverses the realm of love, passion and emotions. In her newest collection of poetry, she bares the hopes of a romantic, the doubts of the skeptic and the dreams of a sanguine, unrelenting spirit.

In the author's first book, "Beauty, Poetry & Flow: Birthed in Travail," she chronicles her hajj from tragedy to triumph as an abuse survivor. Through "Love Notes in Erratic Tones: Melancholy & Melodies," she takes readers on a free-flowing flight through all aspects of love and relationships in a raw, passionate and realistic way. The book presents heartbreak and healing, emptiness and ecstasy in the author's unique voice and style. It takes readers seamlessly from negative to positive and examines feelings universally felt at one time or another. Transcending poetic notes that serenade the sentiments and desires of the heart, it offers hope, refuge and genuine comfort.

An excerpt from "Divine Libations," a featured poem:
We are fluid
poured together outside of time
deliciously fine, like aged wine
marking endless celebrations
transcendental adulations
immortalized up in the sky
transforming mystic constellations

"Many are so afraid to be vulnerable and transparent that they hide behind a cool veneer missing the very emotion that could set them free," says Houston. "Through this book, I want to share to the reader my passion for love in all its beauty, sorrow, pain and joy and why it is indeed, worth all the risks."
