DAVENPORT, Iowa

In a poignant memoir spanning over three generations of family history, author Saeed R. Faruqui shares a story of legacy that grew stronger with each trial and triumph. "Wishful Thinking" (published by Xlibris) is a true account of courage and resilience and a testament of patience as an all-encompassing force against life's biggest obstacles.

Faruqui has witnessed change through the binoculars of his dual upbringing. Having spent his early years in the eastern part of the world and living in the west for the majority of his life, he has seen how family values gradually deteriorated and ties from the old world got severed quickly. "Wishful Thinking" reveals the event that led to this fate and that which severely impacted two generations of his family. It demonstrates the aftermath of intolerance and resilience to give readers an insight on responsibility as the compulsory price tag of every decision.

Broad but without compromising detail, "Wishful Thinking" makes a vivid contrast of three generations as witnessed by the author. He spices the pages with drama, intrigue, science and philosophy and explores the sentiments of a man who has been bruised and built by the undeniable impact of culture to identity. Significantly compelling, this book offers a bridge not only between cultures but also among generations.
