REVERE, Mass.

One fateful day in January of 2010, the world mourned for the people of Haiti as a devastating earthquake left thousands dead and displaced in its wake. The historic event forever ingrained a deep scar in the hearts of Haitians. Some moved on and picked up pieces of what was left to salvage; others were not quick to forget and held on to the past; while there are those who kept the memory as an inspiration to change the course of their lives. Such is the notion that motivated author Rony Michel Joseph to pen "Haiti 's Earthquake Jan. 2010 / God's Manifestations" (published by Xlibris). In this heartrending memoir, he explores the spiritual implications of the event and relates the message of God to help restore faith, hope and a sense of purpose in the lives of many.

"Haiti 's Earthquake Jan. 2010 / God's Manifestations" is a collection of pictures and poetry recounting the disaster that made headlines worldwide five years ago. These poems and images exalt the fundamental essence of man's relationship with God, each leaving room for the reader to look into one's own thoughts and emotions and reconnect with the creator. The message is deep and universal, yet shown in a simplistic manner.

An excerpt from "Haiti 's Earthquake Jan. 2010 / God's Manifestations:"
It is time for human kind to turn his attention to the inner world
It is time for human kind to slow down a bit on the external world
It is time to be conscious that we only have a few years to live and soon we will leave this body with all we had accumulated as wealth
It is time for men to be conscious of his innate power
It is time that with love we help our brothers and sisters in needs
It is time to understand that the other is only an extension of myself
AND ACT ACCORDINGLY.

Deeply evocative and meaningful, "Haiti 's Earthquake Jan. 2010 / God's Manifestations" appeals to the brotherhood of men and the fatherhood of God. It seeks to aid, guide and inspire not only the people of Haiti but every single soul to find light amidst every dark obstacle of life.
