In "A Faltering American Dream: Excessive Accumulation of Money and Power Through the Federal Elections Market" (published by Archway Publishing), Robert W. Merriam, Ph.D., examines U.S. governance since 1945, identifying a turning point after which tax revenues become insufficient. Merriam is launching a marketing campaign to expand the book's reach.

"It is based on factual information, not just opinion, and is clearly written and easily understandable," says Merriam. "The book deals with what the candidates of both parties are debating in more vague terms in their 2016 campaigns."

The book describes that Americans are experiencing federal governance with debt, deteriorating infrastructure and unaffordable higher education. Merriam gathers evidence that the economy is sufficient. He explains how revenue insufficiency happened, and identifies a fundamental flaw in the system of governance, which has enabled and sustained the present government tax insufficiency.

"I want American readers, from any political persuasion, to come away with a much better understanding of how the American economy works, and how it is currently dominated by a few percent of Americans with great talent but a more limited view of what makes America great than most Americans."
