Robert F. McCabe Sr. and William J. McCabe, both veterans and retirees, have completed their first book "Val - A Man Amongst Men," a gripping and potent biography of the authors' father. It is a spine tingling work that grabs hold of the reader with its historically accurate plot line and demands to be read.

On their inspiration to write the book, authors Robert F. McCabe Sr. and William J. McCabe said, "My inspiration to write this memoir about our father, Valentine Raphael McCabe, was the man himself. He suffered the loss of his mother at age 10 and was one of nine in a family of Irish immigrants living in a brownstone apartment in Manhattan, NY. He had to leave school and help to support the family by working in a factory. He served in the U.S. Army during the Mexican Border expedition in 1916 and then on two U.S. Navy submarines in the Atlantic during World War I. Despite his lack of a high school diploma he took a competitive exam for a five year free scholarship at Cooper Union Night School of Mechanical Engineering and graduated in 1929 with his Bachelor of Science degree. His whole life he exhibited exceptional character with his mental toughness, courage, honesty, integrity, and his commitment to God, family and country. This story of his life will inspire anyone looking for a man amongst men to admire and follow his example."

Published by New York City-based Page Publishing, Robert F. McCabe Sr. and William J. McCabe's poignant biography is both reflective and insightful; this work leaves no stone unturned as it examines the failures and successes of a resilient soul.

"Val - A Man Amongst Men" describes Valentine Raphael McCabe best. He lived a life witnessing the early twentieth century historical events. In a way, through his job at Wright Aeronautical Corporation during World War II, he had his fair share of the Allies' victory.

Born in Manhattan, he grew up in a devout Catholic and close-knit family. J.W. McCabe Co., Inc., a famous photo mount company in New York in the early 1900s, was owned by his Uncle Jim, and he worked there as a boy to earn his keep after his mom died. As a young man, he demonstrated his knack and skill in electromechanical design which will ultimately lead him to Wright Aeronautical Corporation and later on to Ford Motor Company in Michigan. His seventy-one amazing years on earth are told by his sons, Bill and Bob, with bits and pieces of history along the way. Witness a man's life surrounded with family love, history, and the now-seldom-seen values and culture of the good old times.

Readers who wish to experience this inspiring work can purchase "Val - A Man Amongst Men" at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes store, Amazon, Google Play or Barnes and Noble.
