Robert Carper, a first-time author and a native of Michigan, has completed his new book, "Ruby": an exciting adventure featuring Stryker and Margaret, awkward, yet intelligent students who stumble on an opportunity to travel to the Middle East in search of an ancient ruby.

Published by New York City-based Page Publishing, Robert Carper's captivating screenplay, the first in a six-part series, delves into the adventures of Stryker and Margaret as they search for the lost ruby.Their search depends on finding the facts behind an ancient legend.

Stryker and Margaret embark on their quest for the treasure lost for thousands of years. Both are socially inept, but highly intelligent and very capable. They just haven't realized their potential yet. At first, Stryker thinks his only challenge is how to meet Margaret; he can barely find the courage to say hi. One day in the library, Margaret finds valuable information about a ruby lost long ago. Stryker volunteers his help and persuades her that they should look for the treasure together. The story opens with pharaoh's army pursuing Edomite villagers who are trying to protect a precious treasure so valuable that they are willing to die to keep it hidden. The villagers perish, and their treasure is lost. Now it's Stryker and Margaret's turn to search the sands of the desert, oblivious to the dangers just ahead. When put to the test, Stryker finds his courage and his bravery sparks romance between the two. Their search ends with a discovery that they never expected.

Readers who wish to experience this epic work can purchase "Ruby" at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes store, Amazon, Google Play or Barnes and Noble.
