Richard Wayne Hatley, a Vietnam Veteran who has his MBA and has worked as a CPA for many years, has completed his new book "The Promise": a gripping story that could occur in reality, while specific characters in the novel are fictional, some scenes are set in places that once existed and some places in the novel still exist.

According to Hatley, "John Grisham was the first person to show (me) how you could study so hard to achieve success in one profession and then succeed in another profession. He also showed (me) that you could be a successful writer using the experiences that you had encountered in your previous profession and build fictional characters around this experience and places where you worked and played."
Published by New York City-based Page Publishing, Richard Wayne Hatley's enthralling tale is his first novel and second published book.
"The Promise" starts in the middle of the 1990's in a small suburb of Memphis, Tennessee. It could be any suburb of any large American city. It is the America in the roaring 1990's, or the declining 1990s from the perspective of many Americans that live in the suburbs. It is America that is starting to change. Some changes are for the better and some changes are for the worse.
Jason Johnstone and the other people of "The Promise" are looking for their own meaning and how The Promise will affect them. The characters of "The Promise" will change in ways that they did not intend.

Readers who wish to experience this inspiring work can purchase "The Promise" at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes store, Amazon, Google Play or Barnes and Noble.
