They say poetry is the language of one's soul. It expresses the deepest emotions and reflects one's feelings of happiness, pain, success and introspection. In I Have Something To Say, author Phyllis DeLain carefully weaves her heartwarming, delightful and highly engaging poetic collection that touches the different facets in life. It is a reality based volume that makes readers stop, look and listen to what the poet is saying. It teaches valuable lessons such as importance of happiness and feeling good to oneself also it highlights the importance of not judging others and acceptance to one's personality and characteristics.

This beautiful anthology desires to express what one cannot utter. It is not fairy-tale poems but truth-based verses that reflect what's going on in everyday life.

DeLain's poems are very inspiring as they promote positive thinking; they are also encouraging. She has a special way that she loves to pray-she calls it crying out to God, which simply means to be sincere from the heart, not just with the lips, and lastly, to reach out and touch someone, allowing him/her into one's world and be able to connect with each other.
