Paul Dewitt Carrington's father enjoyed an eminent career as a Dallas lawyer while his uncle, Charles McCormick achieved fame as a law professor. Inspired by their two examples, the author embarked in 1957 on a career as a law professor, sometime lawyer, and advocate of diverse law reforms.

In this book, A LUCKY LAWYER'S LIFE" (published by Xlibris) he recounts his 55 year career in law and politics, its relation to his family origins, and to his 63 years of marriage to his late wife Bessie and the amazing lives of their descendants.

This book is also dedicated to the memory of Carrington's wife who passed away in April 2016 while this book was nearing completion. About the Author
Paul Dewitt Carrington is a recently retired Professor of Law and former Dean (1978-1988) at Duke University. He is a native of Dallas, a graduate of the University of Texas (1952) and the Harvard Law School (1955). After serving a tour in the Army, he commenced teaching law and has continued that career since 1957. He has been a member of the law faculties at Wyoming, Indiana, Ohio State, Michigan and Duke. He has held visiting appointments at ten other American law schools and has taught in five foreign universities. He has given occasional lectures at over a hundred other law schools in the United States and abroad. He is the author or editor of nine books and numerous symposia, and is the author of more than 100 leading articles in academic legal journals. His work has been supported by the Ford, Guggenheim, Luce, and Rockefeller foundations. His writings have ranged across many legal and law-related topics.
