"One-Eyed Jacks and the Suicide King" (published by Xlibris) lets readers gaze within themselves and the free will within that allows people to be very affectionate toward one another. Anthony Donnell Smith blends the symbolism of tarot and voodoo to search to aid his readers in understanding themselves and the world.

Smith describes the age of the sorcerer with voodoo, whose prominence is depicted by the tarot, permeating the thought processes of people during those days. This was, however, superseded in the maturing world by the laws of force, the age of reason that brought wisdom and described how people react to the unknown and unexplained. According to Smith, during this time, people "simply make up what we do not know. However, we do so by taking the perspectives we are granted and reasoning out the realities that lie within. With reality being created from our crooked and unaligned perspectives, our realities pale in comparison to God's truths."

He states that the Romantic Period paired these realizations of reason and logic up against the phenomenon called emotions and the latter won hands down for "earlier chronicles of man demonstrate mystery, but the mystics are to the nth power within emotions."

These developments culminate in the day of the zodiac that combines logic and emotions. Smith says that the interrelation of humans is controlled by the celestial constellations, aligning individuals' compatibility to one another. He states that this "barely scratches the surface of why we are magnetized to some while we are polarized from others" but with his book, he shares the wisdom he has gained from the pursuit of these mysteries.
