Author Dennis Payton Knight presents a humorous and relatable compilation of short stories depicting real experiences, fictional exercises and simple observations of the world in his new book, "Joyride for Sale: Laughing and Living in Short Little Pieces" (published by Archway Publishing) .

Within his book, Knight presents engaging stories whereby readers can turn to almost any page and enjoy a complete and satisfying story in the space of about four minutes. As a whole, the stories remind readers that life and self are worthy of being taken seriously, but also with a laugh. The book is a non-preaching guidebook to living.

"'Joyride for Sale' is a book about living in the small sense," Knight says, "meaning accepting and appreciating life as it happens, and in the large sense, meaning to live everyday as if it were central to the meaning of life itself."

Knight tells stories ranging from childhood to his adult life, recalling how he devoured coconuts to solve an engineering dilemma in his short career as a male belly dancer; how he dueled a mean, green-eyed girl at bumper cars; and how he created a whole new set of curse words.

A collection of about 80 down-to-earth, wry, evocative and optimistic narratives, "Joyride for Sale" will help readers ponder the meaning of life, celebrate the mysteries of space and fall in love at least once a week. More information is available at http://www.dpknight.com.
