Provenance of Bondage is the first installment in Kyrian Lyndon's Deadly Veils series and offers multi-themed stories with intriguing characters, authentic dialogue, and humor. It's not your typical rape story. It focuses on the aftermath with a special emphasis on the psychological bondage that trauma creates, including codependency and shame-induced narcissism.

In a time where there is so much focus on the credibility of rape victims, this new series sheds light on the painful and humiliating journey of healing, offering insight, as well as hope to those who suffer in silence while feeling emotionally isolated and powerless. The story begins with the protagonist's credibility often in question as she fights for dignity, sanity, and control.

"I experienced all of these things," Kyrian Lyndon explains, "and whenever I read news stories about rape, I can see from the comments that people who haven't experienced it don't understand. In fact, there is so much they don't understand, and while I am not telling my own story in this book, I provided a realistic account of what happens. You see someone who becomes obsessed and withdrawn and, above all, confused, while dealing with all the dysfunction around her. You see how grief and guilt spiral her to an even darker place. I just hope it will bring a little more understanding. I hope, too, it will show trauma survivors that they can reclaim themselves. They can heal. It takes work and courage, but they can get back everything they feel they've lost."

Kyrian Lyndon is a rape and trauma survivor with twenty years of recovery from substance abuse. She was born in Woodside, Queens, New York, the middle of three daughters born to immigrants-her father from Campochiaro, Italy; her mother from Havana, Cuba. Kyrian began writing short stories and fairy tales when she was just eight years old. She has worked primarily in executive-level administrative positions with major New York publishing companies. In addition to Provenance of Bondage, Kyrian has published two poetry collections, A Dark Rose Blooms, and Remnants of Severed Chains. She resides on Long Island in New York.
