For all children with dearly loved pets, author Jan Nimchuk's new children's book, "The Story of Hope: The Cutest Kitty in the World" (published by WestBow Press), shares the story of a beloved kitten and her lasting impact on her family.

Based on a true story, "The Story of Hope" centers on an adorable black-and-white kitten named Hope. Though there are several other cats to play with, Hope leads a lonely life on a Wisconsin farm, and she longs to be the center of a loving family.

When a family from St. Paul arrives to adopt a kitten, Hope frantically meows and begs them to take her. As if guided by fate, the family chooses Hope, who immediately finds a very special place in their hearts.

Though the real Hope passed away recently, Nimchuk's book captures her lasting legacy and shares it with children of all ages. Nimchuk hopes readers will cherish Hope's memory, as she continues to do, and enjoying reading her book for many years to come.

An excerpt from "The Story of Hope":

"Hope or 'Beta' as she was named at first, spent the first three months of her life prancing around the farm with many other cats and kittens. She wasn't very big so it was hard for her to get a place at the food dishes!"
