Author Sherry R. Coldiron's stories were always a hit with her son and extended family. She would write down the stories for when her son would ask to hear them again. Now, she is sharing her stories with readers outside of her family. She follows up her first book, "Bongo & the Yellow Balloon," with her new children's book, "Aunt Mattie's Pie" (published by Trafford Publishing).

Dedicated to her grandchildren, Coldiron's second book follows two rabbits: Aunt Mattie and her nephew Jack. Aunt Mattie is working hard making pies. Jack is waiting for his opportunity to steal a pie for himself, but Aunt Mattie has a surprise for him. The young rabbit will soon learn a lesson on the consequences of stealing.

"Making stories simple and easy for children to understand has always been a priority in my writing," Coldiron says. "Most all of my writings are based on something that really happened in my lifetime, including ideas that sparked a fairy tale or two."

With its rhyming verse, "Aunt Mattie's Pie" hopes to appeal to children to teach them an important lesson about right versus wrong. Coldiron wants readers to not only learn a moral lesson from her book, but also to learn that stories and reading can be fun.
