Authors Nell Jones and Penny Stewart joined forces once again to grace the literary world with another compelling novel in 2015, "Under the Surface" (published by Xlibris). In their latest collaborative work, they showcased their careful attention to detail and clever dialogues that will captivate readers from beginning to end.

Set in Tuscany, this book brings to mind vineyards and olive groves dotting the countryside, visible from the fortified and walled mountaintop village called Montefirenza. The scenic atmosphere gives a surface picture of pastoral, peaceful and bucolic monotony, yet underneath that surface lie a world of emotions and a sea of changes. From kidnappings to murder, from teenage angst to mature passion, from prejudice to understanding, from greed to benevolence, from festivals to funerals - this small village reveals that what affects one, affects all.

In this story, readers will follow Alessandra, the owner of an olive and wine business she inherited from her grandparents. A widow, she recently reconnects with her past through the help of her office manager, Lia. Through the internet, Alessandra rekindles her romance with Vittorio a man from her youth. Their life in the peaceful village is dotted by prejudice, kidnappings, attempted murder and pedophile cases. Can they restore the village atmosphere back into order?

"Under the Surface" is for readers who enjoy travel and exotic locations. It is also for people who have reconnected with their teenage lovers and those who are interested in the classic battle of good versus evil.
