“Mother Mary” by Social Worker Explores Homelessness

The Medulla Review Publishing announces the release of "Mother Mary," "one of the most socially important novels ever written." Penned by Clearlake, CA resident and devoted long-time licensed clinical social worker Myra Sherman, "Mother Mary" takes readers on the harrowing journey of an elderly Jewish homeless woman who faces addiction, wrongful accusal, incarceration, treatment, and the difficult process of inner-healing.

"I did not kill the baby," says Mother Mary. Sherman has created an unforgettable character who deserves to be heard. Myra Sherman is also the author of Jailed, a short story collection published by Desperanto Press in 2011. She received her Masters in Social Welfare from The University of California, Berkeley. Sherman has worked as the Director of Mental Health in a San Francisco Bay area county jail, as well as a therapist specializing in patients at risk for suicide and homeless substance abusers.
