GRAND HAVEN, Mich. (PRWEB) June 23, 2015

Mitch Boucher is a licensed professional engineer with over 23 years of experience working in engineering and operations for utilities, manufacturing and construction firms. His latest book, "We Power Us: Green Jobs, Big Oil Subsidies, American Politics" (published by WestBow Press), shows what Boucher says is big government's role in the destruction of the energy industry.

Boucher argues in "We Power Us" that a big government has kept well-thinking middle class people from solving the energy crisis due to increasing regulations. He points out some government is well and good, and aims to demonstrate the problem with too big of a government through the use of 33 graphs and charts, which he says were taken from bi-partisan or independent sources.

"Old coal power plants create about 60% of all the air pollution from power generation," Boucher says. "They have outdated controls and are inefficient, consuming more precious fuel and producing less electricity. New coal power plants, even without carbon capture are over 90% more clean."

"Old black and white TVs were made obsolete by the free market, but those old coal plants still remain," Boucher says. "The free market made owning new solid state flat screen TVs so economical that everyone now owns one. Why are these old power plants still hanging around? The big oil companies, big environmental groups and big government work unknowingly or irresponsibly to keep the status quo for their own benefit - at the expense of middle class American people."
