HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif.

Comprised of multiple diary entries and other writings, the new book by Earl S. Beecher, "A Mormon Chaplain" (published by Trafford Publishing), details the author's experiences in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and his journey to newfound faith in God.

Beecher was a U.S. Army chaplain at Camp Cooke in California, before heading to Korea to take part in the war. During his time in the military, he served in many capacities and experienced almost every aspect of human life. He worked in close harmony with chaplains of all faiths and as a counselor regarding personal and official matters in hospitals, prisons and more.

"Personal war stories, especially humorous ones, are perpetually popular," Beecher says. "Today's society is hungry for faith-promoting information."
