Maribel V. Moses Releases DETRI'S ROUND TRIP

Cleft lip and palate are birth defects that occur when a baby's lip or mouth do not form properly during pregnancy. Author Maribel Moses is the Vice-President of the Smiles International Foundation that helps children who suffer from this defect.

Moses has written her new children's self-help novel, "Detri's Round Trip," to aid those who suffer from self-esteem issues. The author is a long-time philanthropist who was inspired to write her book to encourage children to see beauty within themselves and others.

"Detri's Round Trip" is a new adventurous children's novel empowering the importance of self-esteem and friendship. The novel encompasses the story of a child traveling into the darkness of his emotions with a desire to find answers in order to balance the good and bad experiences of life. Detri also explores the balance between perceptions and physical realities.

The author's inspiration for this new novel was taken from her personal experiences in self-healing during her early years as she dealt with divorced parents, childhood trauma and more. However, the majority of her inspiration surrounds her observation of the damaging effects children experience resulting from the cleft-facial deformities.

"My book illustrates in a creative and fun way, education of children about making choices," said Moses. "I hope to teach children to understand how our self-esteem comes from within and also to know that with that confidence they can look at fear with indifference; the message ultimately manifested in the book is how to realize that all beauty truly comes from inside of the person and that great things happen when you can see that beauty in yourself as well as in others."
