Mystery and thriller publisher Le French Book recently concluded audiobook deals with Audible for several of its titles. This translation publisher focuses on bringing top-selling titles from France to a wider audience of readers across the English-speaking world. Its goal is to expand the reach of bestselling genre fiction from France.

"We want all readers to be able to have access to these books, whatever their format of choice. Now that our digital books and print books are available, we are pleased to announce that audiobooks are in production," says founder and president Anne Trager.

Wil Snape of Audible says, "Audible strives to bring the largest selection of audiobooks and other spoken-word content to our customers. We are delighted to partner with Le French Book to bring these exciting French literary talents to an English-speaking audience."

For Trager, Audible, as the leading provider of digital audiobooks, was an obvious choice. The first audiobooks will become available in fall. "We have a little catching up to do, but we are aiming to have simultaneous releases for the fall titles," Trager says.

For Le French Book, this paves the way for their books to be read simultaneously in paper, ebook and audio, without losing a word, which corresponds to the publisher's goals of providing readers with great stories whenever they want them, however they want them. Amazon Kindle's Whispersync technology already makes this possible in the United States and Canada.

In addition to The Greenland Breach by Bernard Besson, the publisher's three on-going series are on the production list.

Four titles in the Winemaker Detective series by Jean-Pierre Alaux and Noël Balen are in the pipeline: Treachery in Bordeaux, Grand Cru Heist, Nightmare in Burgundy and Deadly Tasting.

The Paris Homicide series by Frédérique Molay has three titles planned: The 7th Woman, Crossing the Line and The City of Blood.

There will also be two titles in the Consortium thriller series by David Khara: The Bleiberg Project and The Shiro Project.
