"Living for A Purpose" is the creation of published author, Lauren Baker, resident of Askewville, North Carolina and daughter of Neil and Pamela Baker. Born on July 9, 2001, Lauren attends Lawrence Academy in Merry Hill, NC where she is active in the Beta Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Students Against Drunk Driving; she also plays varsity basketball and softball. She is an active member of Askewville Assembly of God, her youth group, and her community.

"A young girl going through all the obstacles that I had encountered seemed like enough for a lifetime, or so I thought. However, July 21, 2012, twelve days after my eleventh birthday, a tragic event changed my life forever. That part of my life, I recall and am able to write from personal experience and not from my parents sharing with me.
