IDAHO FALLS, Idaho

Child cancer survivor Landon Purser tells his story of life, love and fighting cancer at age 11 in his new book "Standing on Borrowed Legs: The Autobiography of a Cancer Survivor" (published by AuthorHouse).

An inspiring story, though not simply one of overcoming, "Standing on Borrowed Legs" tells of a young boy's zeal for life and his fight to preserve it. Purser not only relates his experiences before, during and after his bone cancer diagnosis, but also recounts lessons much beyond his years that he learned along the way.

"Everyone has problems that they have to work out and when people hear how other people were able to overcome their problems it gives people hope because it shows that it can be done; we can make it through hard times," Purser says.

In a colloquial manner, almost as though Purser is having a conversation directly with the reader, he leads the audience through his life, hitting on the unfortunate, tragic and hopeful events that shaped him into the person he is today.

Purser explains that, though he does have a prosthetic knee, his title is a tilt of the hat to the innumerable and unnamable people who took part in his healing without ever knowing the impact they would have on a young boy as he healed and re-learned to stand and walk.
