United Nations Anthropologist Dr. Jacques Vague is ATHEISTMAN. He's also Jack-the-Junkie-Rat. Join author John C. Gleason as he carefully weaves a riveting and action-packed tale full of intrigue, deception and surprise in LATE STORMS FOR DARWIN.

This book is an extract from the professional journal of Dr Jacques Vague, the infamous United Nations Anthropologist from 1973 to 1989 until he was fired for ineptitude, lechery, drug-taking, corruption and most notably, insulting the Ayatollah Khomeini. It is a first person account by the angst-riddled central character who incorporates two 'alter-egos'-superhero Atheistman and Jack the Rat.

The story begins when a light aircraft crashes in stormy weather on a desert island. Castaways include Dr. Vague, Bob (the charter pilot and formerly a Hell's Cheaters biker), Sue Tran (the Vietnamese caterer), Mr. Korda (mining executive) and his wife, a post-op transvestite nun and an Aboriginal lad.

It's primitive as can be when the true reason for the plane crash is revealed. Survivors have to battle the elements and sinister human design - and all have the misfortune of having to engage with Dr. Vague when normal rules do not apply. Growing desperation and deadly conflict ensue.

LATE STORMS FOR DARWIN offers subtle and humorous allusions and images from the 1960's, 1970's and the 1980's that will bring a smile to older generations. The social comment and satire will appeal to readers of all ages and there is the timeless satisfaction of a rollicking adventure.
