Jim Bowman, a renaissance man enjoying his retirement in Indianapolis with his wife Joyce, has completed his first book "Unwanted Toy": an inviting page-turner that sheds a new light on a classic tale.

"'Unwanted Toy' is a story about a small child loving a truck that no one wanted because it was different in color. The message is: don't judge a person or thing by its color," says first-time author Jim Bowman of his classic tale.

Published by New York City-based Page Publishing, Jim Bowman's poignant tale of the relationship between to outcasts trying to teach the world that it's what is inside that counts. Bowman's words depict the warmth enjoyed by two friends that so desperately need each other's friendship.

Bowman asks readers to think about a favorite toy. Doesn't it just seem so different from the rest? Meet this pink and yellow truck. He feels different too, but not in a good way. No child seemed to want him. Until one day a little boy who feels just as different saw the pink and yellow truck. Has he finally found a friend? Or will he still be the lonely little toy always placed at the back of the shelf?

Readers who wish to experience this inspiring work can purchase "Unwanted Toy" at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes store, Amazon, Google Play or Barnes and Noble.
