Author James J. Garber tackles an age-old theological issue concerning the foundation and development of human life in a fresh, unique and thought-provoking tone with his new book "God, Darwin, and the Problem of Evil" (published by Trafford Publishing). This systematic analysis includes a review of prior solutions, an extended analysis of the law of evolution, and how evolution provides a satisfactory solution to the enduring human experience of the "problem of evil."

The problem of evil has troubled theologians and philosophers since antiquity, explains Garber. Multiple solutions to this problem have been proposed over the centuries, but none has fully answered the question of why God allows evil into people's lives. The author Graber's premise is based on evolution as developed by Charles Darwin in the 19th century: "Evolution, as explained by Darwin, has come to be accepted by the scientific community as an empirically sound explanation for how humans, flora, and fauna have come to exist on earth. Our environment is constantly changing, and if we are to survive in our world, we must evolve. Thus, what we view as the problem of evil is actually God's (or some higher power's) way of helping us survive and become more advanced as a species. We need challenges, or some form of 'evil,' to survive. Thus, the evils we face daily are part of the material world in which we live."

Offered to every reader who aims to uncover the mystery of suffering and survival and better understand the concept of God, "God, Darwin, and the Problem of Evil" shares a valid solution of the daily evils humans encounter, along with an improved way of dealing with these problems.

"We are faced daily by unending challenges, evils if you will, and we look for an ever improving personal and global world. No good solution to the Problem of Evil has been published and evolutionary theory is a novel and satisfactory solution to this issue," Garber states. "'God, Darwin, and the Problem of Evil' provides a systematic explanation of evil. Whether one is a theist, deist, or an atheist, the problem of evil can be solved by Darwinian and evolutionary solution to the problem of evil."
