Many think the world of special intelligence operations is a work of fiction, simply made up for Hollywood and Ian Fleming novels. But this is the world former special operations serviceman and debut author J. Max Taylor lived in for almost a decade.

Inspired by a deep dedication to his fallen comrades and a desire to help fellow veterans today - profits from the book will help fund American Legion and VFW programs for needy veterans - Taylor's new book brings readers "Inside the World of Mirrors: The Story of a Shadow Warrior" (published by AuthorHouse).

This gripping memoir provides a compelling account of a world few people even knew existed - the "World of Mirrors." This was the name given to the secretive domain in which Taylor worked during the Cold War from 1968-1976.

"Many Americans believe that the war on terror began in 2001," Taylor says. "But our country has been fighting terror overseas for decades. This book was written to honor those who have been ignored, denied and forgotten."
