J. Endrényi's memoirs, dealing with the periods before, during and after the Second World War in Hungary, describe several moments of extreme danger. "Old Times, Evil Times: Memoirs" (published by iUniverse) chronicles Hungary's allegiance with Nazi Germany from a personal perspective, detailing the problems Endrényi and his family faced due to their Jewish origins. The author is embarking on a marketing campaign to expand the book's reach.

Endrényi explains that he wrote the book to offer new historic information, and to confirm the events that he and many others went through - including the fear of imminent death: "I have often tried to recall how it felt to be ten minutes away from certain death, but can only remember that it was beyond one's range of feelings," Endrényi writes in his book.

The author hopes that his story will serve as a reminder of the atrocities committed under an authoritarian regime. These events, says Endrényi, led to his desire to be self-reliant.

An excerpt from the BlueInk Review of "Old Times, Evil Times":
Endrényi transcends his personal narrative and reaches a universal height with a story that will connect with all those who have the enduring capacity for hope.
