HOPEDALE, Mass.

Author Gerard R. Champagne is a firm believer in miracles. In his new book, "Stop the Rain and Raise the Dead: The Miracles I Have Done You Can Do Also" (published by WestBow Press), Champagne showcases 30 of his most miraculous experiences, illustrating God's work in his life.

Born into a strict Catholic family, Champagne says he witnessed the healing of his friend's rheumatoid arthritis, which encouraged him to seek out a different church. After being born again, Champagne returned home and shared the message with his mother and father.

So moved, his father decided to accompany Champagne as they set out to spread their message of faith to others. The book, Champagne says, chronicles some of their most intense experiences, including demon possessions, out-of-body experiences and other miracles Champagne says he and his father performed.

Through his book, Champagne hopes to show readers that they do not have to be perfect in order to receive God's love.

An excerpt from "Stop the Rain and Raise the Dead":

"I've related events that I kept hidden for many years because God has now ordered me to let them be known. There are two stories where I came out of this shell we call a body, once by God's will and the other by my hand; after I committed suicide. Only by grace was I allowed to return, with evidence of my death and proof that angels exist."
