More than 83 million people in the U.S. are a special human person to a canine, according to Holistic animal therapist Bettejeanne Hammond writes her first novel about six canine buddies as they strive to thrive in the human world.

"Ganny's Journal" is a heart-warming, experiential journey into how domesticated dogs live in our world. Ganny, the pack elder, relates the humorous and poignant adventures of his pack, along with the help of his human scribe Hammond.

"The back story of why I was eventually inspired to work therapeutically with animals began when my childhood dog Dusty rescued me," Hammond said. "I consider this back story to be the starting point of a path that eventually led me to my calling of connecting with animals, both bringing them into my home and working with them therapeutically."

Hammond has a clear vision and keen sense of how the members of her beloved animal family experience one another and the human world. She demonstrates a profound respect for them and an extreme humbleness regarding their perception.

"This book offers animal caretakers an opportunity to experience the richly textured social and emotional lives of domesticated dogs, perhaps prompting them to observe their own beloved animals more closely," Hammond said.
