Author Gabrielle Zander's desire to be loved and accepted brought her down many dark roads and into the hands of those who abused and led her into prostitution. She had to overcome eating disorders, learn to live with an illness she tried to hide and breath through everyday struggles just to stay alive. An awakening in the form of understanding what love for the self means has ignited her passion within, the desire to better herself and assist others in doing so has led her to write an inspiring memoir.

"I've Got Your Back" (published by Xlibris) is the message Zander wants readers to grasp and understand - a reassurance that they have someone who understands their sufferings. After coping with a low self-esteem and breaking free from the bonds of self-pity, she had a thorough look at herself. Not long after, she has finally came to terms with her own heart and mind; realizing that it is her who needs to value and love herself more before she can be loved by anyone.

Eager to share, help and draw people out of their misery, Zander bares all of her past and pours her heart out to let readers see the importance of loving themselves first. For her, in order for readers to see their true worth, a gem and a person they can be proud of, they should "look into yourself without hesitation and try to understand the consequences actions will have on you and what they may have on your children."
