PEMBERTON, N.J.

Author of the new book "The Me I Never Was" (published by Balboa Press), Francine C. Still Hicks, gives readers the tools and confidence to discover the person they should be with her new book, which will be featured at an upcoming event.

"The Me I Never Was," which is a guide to self discovery meant to inspire and motivate readers to stray from stereotypes and labels, will have an official book launch party at the Barnes & Noble located at 911 Haddonfield Road in Cherry Hill, New Jersey on Saturday, May 2, 2015. From 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., Still Hicks will be meeting with fans, signing copies of her book, doing a reading from her book and answering questions. There will be live music, refreshments, door prizes and everyone in attendance will receive a small gift.

As a follow up to the book's official launch, from May 8-30, 2015, interested parties may sign up to win a copy of "The Me I Never Was" with the Erie Gay News online.

"I know the pain of struggling to be my true self with family and associates not understanding who I am inside," Still Hicks says. "If I can motivate and inspire people that have not found their true self, my life's mission would be fulfilled."
