Due to the flooding demands for copies of the homilies he delivered within the Eucharistic liturgy, author Donald Anyagwa felt that documenting them in a book form would do a lot of service to the interested listeners. "Power from the Word: Sunday Homilies for Cycle B" (published by Xlibris UK) can open new windows for gospel preachers and create deeper consciousness of relationship between people.

This book is the second part of a series of homilies covering the Church's three liturgical cycles - A, B and C. By compiling this work, Anyagwa tries to make alive and active God's Word through the liturgical readings for Sundays and feast days of the occurring year. He gives consideration to what goes around today's human situations, recalling the time when Jesus was walking alongside the streets of Judea and Galilee to work among people from different cultural settings. His teachings and approaches, Anyagwa argues, are the indispensable yardstick.

"This book is multifaceted in content and context," Anyagwa says. "It flows from the spheres of religion and spirituality to embrace the psychological and emotional needs of the politically ambitious, scientifically conscious and technologically minded man and woman of our modern world."

The author has tried to streamline in the collection of homilies the fundamental needs that every man and woman must come back to hunger and thirst for, irrespective of modern world's apathy to religion and God. Peace, love of neighbour, sacredness of life, personal holiness and awareness of God and likely virtues can never be completely argued against or refuted.
