Professor and doctor of economics, Wan Sulaiman Bin Wan Yusoff, offers an argument for Islamic economics to replace capitalism in his new book "Industrial Economics: Monopoly in Islamic Perspective" (published by Xlibris AU).

"In the theory of market structure, there is nothing wrong with monopoly, per se, but the men are wrong," Yusoff says. "If the men are good (Islamic men rather than economic men) even he with monopoly power will do good and give benefit to the society."

Within "Industrial Economics," Yusoff explains his position that capitalist economics is causing inflation and increasing unemployment, a fact he says can only be corrected through the implementation of Islamic economics.

"People of the world are looking for an alternative way to solve the problem of economics through justice and fair play," Yusoff says. "The solution is Islamic economics - no exploitation, no discrimination, no dead-weight loss of resources and no disinternal and disexternal economy of scale in the firm and industry."
