In his new book, "Accidents of Nature" (published by AuthorHouse), David L. Brannon shares 26 short stories designed to get readers thinking about the consequences of the world's current political, technical and medical developments.

"These are the stories that garnered the most positive and negative reactions of my writing over the last dozen years," Brannon says.

Brannon's collection of stories encompass sci-fi to fictionalized history. With a variety of interesting topics, themes and characters, he seeks to entertain and make people think. Most stories are humorous or ironic. Others are likely to scare the pants off readers. While getting the reader to think, Brannon's over-the-top scenarios do not require too much suspension of reality.

"It presents several bold points of view about people, their motivations and potential outcomes," Brannon says. "Like Ray Bradbury, I do not try to predict the future - I write stories in hopes that we can prevent certain futures."

Brannon admits it would be easy for readers to discount his visions of the future presented in "Accidents of Nature," but he hopes his book will incite readers to give more thought to the consequences of their actions.
