Capturing the character, unconditional love and joy of dogs, "The Dogs' Path of Life" (published by Balboa Press) is a collection of Constance J. Chandlee's watercolor dog portraits. Including pearls of wisdom from her 43 years of spiritual growth and teaching, the collection reveals the uplifting power of dogs.

Originally a gift for her husband's co-workers, Chandlee also gave the book to her friends and family as a gift. "As each person read the book, they all wanted numerous copies for gifts," she explains. "I discovered that I could do a lot more with this book: I could help children and families open up dialogues for loving and respecting themselves and others, and other self-growth issues, and I could also continue to raise funds for animal non-profit organizations through sharing profit sales as I had been raising funds for animals the past 11 years."

Teaching important lessons to children and providing an inspiring reminder for adults, "The Dogs' Path of Life" considers self-love, loving others, respect, gratitude, friendship, health, learning, exercise and interacting with the world. Tapping into a dog's innate ability to find the positive in life, the collection can open up the possibility for self-growth and remind readers to embrace that positivity in their own lives.

"I want children to go to my book to be uplifted when they need or want to feel OK about themselves; when they might need a friend. I want children to strive toward loving themselves and being happy," Chandlee says. "I want adults to take the time to sit with their children and open up dialogue from the pages of wisdom so as to improve their child's growth. Children need guidance. They can't do it on their own."
