SALT LAKE CITY

When her true love is sent off to war in 1941, Catherine Sorensen is the one to embark upon an unlikely adventure of hidden treasure, mystery and personal transformation.

"Catherine and the Hidden Treasure" incorporates Chris Larsen's observations, research, personal stories and views into an enchanting story of a woman who begins her journey searching for $20,000, but ends up discovering more about the world and her inner self.

"It is an intriguing mystery about a woman's quest for hidden fortune," Larsen says. "Yet, woven within the story are many precious strands of insight about love, life and the treasure we all seek-true happiness."

From his 30 year career with the U.S. Air Force, Larsen provides an accurate depiction of the economic environment and business world in the wake of the Great Depression.

Readers are introduced to an era of distinct social classes, conservative religious notions and spirited war sentiment. Regardless of the landscape, they bear witness to the unchanging power of love when confronted with a challenge.

"Catherine learns that real life is fraught with unexpected twists and that priceless treasures can come in many forms."
