Bonitto, a native of Kingston Jamaica who taught herself how to read and write, has completed her new book, "My Story: Book 2": the gripping and potent tale of a young girls self-discovery, endurance, and rock solid resolve to survive.

By the time she was thirteen years old, April had seven children to take care of. And that's not all. In addition to babysitting her younger brothers, sisters and cousins, she was in charge of cooking and cleaning at her Gramma's house in the Jamaican countryside, often on her own - until her mother sends for her to come back to live in Kingston when she is 13, finally giving her the chance to go to school and learn to read and write.
But April's struggles are far from over. April's mother is married to her evil drunk stepfather who beats her and steals the family money. At Catholic school, April also has a hard time with the nuns when she can't grasp class assignments quickly enough because of her lack of formal education. She is soon forced to drop out of school in order to make money to support her family.

In Kingston, and in other locations throughout Jamaica, she constantly comes into contact with both angels who are looking out for her and mean people who only want to make her life harder. But throughout all of her trouble, there is one constant in April's life: her faith in God, which she learned from her grandmother.

As she loses touch with loved ones and reconnects with them, as she works hard to support herself and do the right thing, she knows she is never truly alone as long as Jesus is on her side.

Published by New York City-based Page Publishing, Bonitto's poignant tale illuminates the wonderful resilience of the human spirit and will inspire anyone to never let go of their dreams.

Readers who wish to experience this uplifting work can purchase "My Story: Book 2" at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes store, Amazon, Google Play or Barnes and Noble.
