In "You Could Go to Jail" (published by iUniverse), a seasoned attorney shares a collection of obscure, humorous laws that provide a glimpse into the seemingly innocent and bizarre acts that could land one in jail.

Author Bernie Siler says his aim is to "demonstrate in a humorous way the ridiculous outcomes if certain laws are interpreted literally and the problems that certain communities have that require certain prohibitions."

Siler provides readers with a good laugh and a better appreciation of the skill lawyers have in using an outwardly minute modification of a phrase to advocate for a good outcome for a client. "Such a difference in presentation can be the difference between a person's freedom or confinement or death," he says.

An excerpt from "You Could Go to Jail":
Always remember: "You cannot engage in blasphemy in the dressing room of a public swimming pool in Brisbane, Australia."
