NORCROSS, Ga.

In the new book, "Destiny: How I Beat the Tough Streets of Chicago Illinois 60647-60651" (published by AuthorHouse), author B. Bostic, a Chicago-native, writes to teens and adults about achieving personal success despite the trials and tribulations of growing up in the inner-city.

In his self-help story, Bostic shares how he was faced with the gang life, but managed to turn it around into something positive by being creative in a business sense.

"People love to see a person that has had hardship find peace and success," Bostic says.

Through his story, Bostic hopes to instill in readers his message that everyone makes mistakes - some big, some small - but that those same people can change their ways and become model citizens.

"In society today, you're always going to find people who made mistakes in life and find themselves in the penal system and feel lost because society has given up on them," Bostic says. "My book is inspirational to that person who feels disenfranchised in society."
