Azadeh Tabazadeh has already accomplished her dream of becoming a world-renowned scientist, as proven by her awards from NASA, the American Geophysical Union, the American Meteorological Society, and the White House. She is now setting her sights on a new goal: making an impact across college campuses.

Tabazadeh's memoir, "The Sky Detective" recounts her journey of growing up in Iran and fleeing to America. She hopes that her first hand account of life in the Middle East will become required reading for Middle Eastern studies in colleges. Her memoir is a unique angle about political crises in foreign countries and seeks to give inspiration to young women looking to enter male dominated fields of study.

Tabazadeh's illustrious career began at University of California Los Angeles, where she received her bachelor's, master's and doctorate degrees in chemistry. She has experience in both the corporate and academic world, working as a senior researcher at NASA and a geophysics professor at Stanford University. Her research has been published in Time, the San Francisco Chronicle and Washington Post.

Her book offers an eyewitness account of the Islamic Revolution as well as the Iraqi War told from the perspective of Tabazadeh as a young girl. Political turmoil forced her to leave her family and friends, which still greatly affects her life. She hopes to use her book as a platform to humanize people from the Middle East to Americans and westerners in general - as she strongly believes stories are what connect people, not the policies of their respective governments.

"I wrote this book to pay tribute to the people I left behind," Tabazadeh said.

Tabazadeh's book is an informative account about living in an unstable political climate and overcoming adversity. Readers will be moved by her personal journey of perseverance and gain a clearer understanding of the upheaval in the Middle East.
