Author of PURITY, Jonathan Franzen, Eyes TV Series

Author Jonathan Franzen is working on a TV adaptation of his book, PURITY. Daniel Craig is set to star with director Todd Field at the helm. According to Variety, "Multiple bidders - including Showtime, Netflix and others - are in talks" for the series. It will be produced by Scott Rudin and written by Todd Field and Franzen.

If green lighted, PURITY would be Craig's first TV series in the U.S.

Jonathan Franzen is the author of five novels--Purity, Freedom, The Corrections, The Twenty-Seventh City, and Strong Motion--and five works of nonfiction and translation, including Farther Away, How to Be Alone, and The Discomfort Zone, all published by Farrar, Straus and Giroux. He is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Letters, the German Akademie der Kunste, and the French Ordre des Arts et des Lettres.
