About the Author
Arthur Boynton was born in 1933, the only child of Margaret and Thomas Boynton. His father worked as a boiler-smith at the steam locomotive sheds in Selby in the West Riding of Yorkshire, England. He took up, "unpaid," Voluntary Service in the St. John Ambulance first as a patient then a cadet, adult member, cadet officer and area staff officer. He retired after 38 years. He was also a National Service Entrant to the Royal Army Medical Corps 1951 to 1953 and was a Squad Instructor at the Depot and Training Establishment at Crookham In Hampshire UK for two years.
