TORONTO, ONTARIO - March is Colon Cancer Awareness month. Neil Crone, Canada's favourite comedian, writer and actor, best known for his role as "Fred Tupper" in CBC's Little Mosque on the Prairie, releases his new book chronicling his experiences with colon cancer.

Semi-Colon: A Writer's Cheeky Journey Through Colorectal Cancer is a 144-page compilation of newspaper articles, emails and inspiration written by Crone during his diagnosis and treatment of colorectal cancer.

"I really want to empower people and at the very least take some of Cancer's power away from it. If I can make one person sitting in a chemo chair smile or laugh for a minute or two. That will have made everything worthwhile."

Coinciding with April's Cancer Awareness month in both Canada and the U.S., Wintertickle Press will be publishing Semi-Colon on April 3, 2015. The book will be available through Chapters, Amazon, and independent bookstores. It will also be available through Amazon in North America, U.K., and mainland Europe.

The publisher will be donating $1 from every amazon.com sale during the month of April to the Canadian Cancer Society. In addition, Crone and Wintertickle Press will be donating 50 copies of Semi-Colon to various cancer clinics and charities across Ontario. Online pre-orders are available as of March 1, 2015 through Chapters.ca.

Crone is the Colorectal Cancer Association spokesperson, frequently works with the Canadian Cancer Society and is currently on a cross-province media tour in conjunction with the Ontario Ministry of Health, promoting the importance of early detection and their at-home cancer screening initiative.
