Author John Fitzgerald creates a new twist on genie folklore and re-imagines what rubbing a magic lamp would be like in modern times through his new novel, "Alien Genie" (published by AuthorHouse).

When Mike Greiner and his buddies pack their truck and head out on a hunting trip in northern New Jersey, Mike feels as if something exciting may be waiting for him. While hunting away from his friends, Mike encounters a visiting UFO who leaves him with a very strange gift - a device that looks like a larger version of a television remote.

From the device, an alien genie emerges and promises to serve Mike as his master. The genie plans to record Mike's life from the present until his death and then transmit it back to his home planet to entertain the aliens. With the genie's power to grant all wishes, Mike's life changes in ways he never could have imagined.

An excerpt from "Alien Genie":

"Michael Greiner was going hunting. He hadn't gone hunting in a couple of years simply because he had met this girl and had found other things to do with his time in the fall. But, the relationship had soured, and they went their separate ways. When the regular group of friends he had gone hunting with over the years had found out he was free again, they insisted he come this year."
