At 16, teenagers are often running from the police versus joining the police force. However, this is not the case for 16-year-old Thomas Haroldson, who must choose to join the P.O.L.I.C.E. organization ruling Germany or stand with Le Rebells, the freedom fighters.

In his new novel, "A Faint Echo," author J.A. Sedler has created a world where Germany has won World War II and a totalitarian organization-The P.O.L.I.C.E.- has taken over. In an effort to restore freedom a rebel group commits acts of terrorism against society, losing track of their original vision. In the midst of this clash of civilization, Thomas Haroldson is swept into the dangerous struggle between the P.O.L.I.C.E. and the Rebells.

"When writing the book I worked to not take a side or write from a bias opinion. I wrote both factions as neither good or bad," said Sedler. "It is up to the reader to decide which side to cheer for."

Sedler comes from a background in education and currently works as a middle school teacher. As an educator, Sedler is passionate about providing students with reading materials that will generate thoughtful conversation.

"A Faint Echo" presents readers with a thought-provoking scenario. Readers will be drawn into the story as they are presented with themes relatable to today's society. "Ultimately, no matter the paths that are laid out in front of you, it is up to you to choose what is right, what to believe in and what path to travel," concludes Sedler.
