The Gallery Players is proud to announce their 48th Season: new plays and new musicals, as well as Gallery's signature reimagining of Broadway classics.

The season opens September 13th with the 2009 Tony Award winning Tom Kitt/Brian Yorkey musical, Next to Normal, followed October 25th by the 2001 Pulitzer- and Tony-winning Proof, by David Auburn. Then, opening December 6th for the holidays, Jerry Herman's masterpiece, Jerry's Girls, followed January 17th by the Ray Cooney farce, Run For Your Wife. After that, starting March 7th, Steven Schwartz and Joseph Stein's rarely-done musical, The Baker's Wife, based on the film, La Femme de Boulanger. And to cap off the mainstage season, on April 25th opens the multiple award-winning Tim Rice/Andrew Lloyd Webber musical, Evita.

Next, starting May 28th, the 18th annual Black Box New Play Festival will premiere new one-act and full-length plays by local playwrights - four weeks, four different programs - each play developed and honed through a playwright-driven collaborative process aimed at polishing their craft.

And new this season, the OVERTURES program will present staged readings of new musicals. Spaced throughout the season, six handpicked works will each have two readings, with the first one on September 21st and 22nd, all performed, words and music, by a talented roster of musical artists.

Mainstage tickets are $18.00 for Adults and $14.00 for senior citizens, students, and children 12 and under. Black Box ticket prices follow the season schedule, and a four-week pass is available for $55. Individual OVERTURES tickets are $10 each, with a season pass offered for $50. A variety of subscription plans are available, including the new S/C Subscription for seniors and children. Tickets and subscriptions can be purchased 24/7 online at www.galleryplayers.com or by calling OvationTix at 212-352-3101 (phone hours 9-9 weekdays, 10-6 weekends).
