Based on the 1988 cult film Heathers that starred Winona Ryder and Christian Slater, HEATHERS THE MUSICAL makes its Brisbane debut in the Playhouse, Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) from 9 to 17 January 2016.

Written by the award-winning creative team of Kevin Murphy (Reefer Madness, Desperate Housewives) and Laurence O'Keefe (Bat Boy, Legally Blonde), HEATHERS THE MUSICAL is a fast paced, pop/rock show that is so 'very'.

Westerberg High is ruled by a shoulder-padded, scrunchie-wearing threesome: Heather, Heather and Heather, the hottest and cruellest girls at school. But misfit Veronica Sawyer (Jaz Flowers) rejects their evil regime and falls in love with the dangerously sexy new kid J.D. When Heather Chandler (Kirby Burgess) kicks her out of the group, Veronica decides to put the Heathers in their place - six feet under.

Staying true to the story line of the original film, this heartfelt, hilarious, homicidal new musical is for everyone who has ever longed to be in the 'popular' group or dreamed of taking revenge on the cool kids.

Directed by writer, director, performer and cabaret star Trevor Ashley (LES MISERABLES, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Fat Swan, Little Orphan Trashley), starring Kirby Burgess (Dirty Dancing - The Classic Story on Stage, Grease, Sweet Charity) and Helpmann nominee Jaz Flowers (Hairspray, Hot Shoe Shuffle), with musical direction by Bev Kennedy and choreography by Cameron Mitchell.

So 'Don't be a pillow case', step back in time to an era filled with shoulder pads, big hair and fluorescent colours. HEATHERS THE MUSICAL tickets are on sale from 23 October 2015 via qpac.com.au or 136 246.
