JACK BEATTY
Directed by Myriam Cyr

Black Box Lab at Stage284 announces the launch of a new performance space with the The Lab’s Inaugural Collaboration: The World Premiere Reading of renowned, Award-Winning Man of Letters
JACK BEATTY’S World Premiere Reading of The Battle Not Begun: Munich 1938. Epochal history as gripping drama. About the Three World-Changing Meetings Between Neville Chamberlain & Adolf Hitler. With an extraordinary command of language, the author probes themes that are eerily prescient to today’s world.

Neville Chamberlain appears in a fresh and forgiving light as a fool for peace overmatched by the world-devouring darkness within Adolf Hitler. He asked for a series of three meetings with the Führer.

Jack Beatty’s three Acts deal with each of the three meetings.

It’s breathtaking.

To watch as the planet’s men-in-charge work within an almost impossible situation choreographed by an evil genius is something audiences worldwide need to see.

Mr. Beatty’s play is spectacular theatre.

Talkback by the author and Boston media legend, Michael Goldman, after the performance.

Jack Beatty, News Analyst for On Point with Tom Ashbrook is the author, most recently, of The Lost History of 1914, which the New Yorker called “thought-provoking and often mordantly ironic.”

Black Box Lab’s Artistic Director Myriam Cyr directs. A former actress with the Royal National Theater and critically acclaimed author, Myriam recently directed Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead at the Mirror Repertory Theater. of which the Hardwick Gazette said, "Under Myriam Cyr's deft hand, unbridled humor and ironic answers to "life's persistent questions" the play was one not to be missed."
